Sunday, April 19, 3:00 p.m.
St Martin-in-the-Fields parish hall, 8000 St Martin’s Lane, Chestnut Hill.
The documentary “follows social worker Dan Cohen, founder of the nonprofit organization Music & Memory, as he fights against a broken healthcare system to demonstrate music’s ability to combat memory loss and restore a deep sense of self to those suffering from it.” He brings i-Pods loaded with a playlist of favorite music to people with dementia, and the effect of listening to tunes from long ago is amazing. Discussion to follow. Admission: $5 donation at the door or the donation of a gently used i-Pod to be given to the Music and Memory organization. Co-sponsored by Center on the Hill.
