HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER
PLEASE HELP US GET THE WORD OUT**
After carefully reviewing all of the available forecast models and personally consulting with experienced several local meteorologists this morning, we have decided to CANCEL the Market for tomorrow, Sunday 9/9, in Chestnut Hill.
Please know that this is not a decision we take lightly, and it’s very hard to have to make this call. We understand the impact to everyone, and this is obviously very disappointing and frustrating. In nearly 10 years of doing this event, and probably close to 100 shows in all kinds of weather, we have only cancelled once before. It is especially challenging since we are a “rain or shine” event (cancellations are always possible for severe or dangerous weather conditions).
With the current forecasts and guidance coming into agreement late this morning and indicating a steady and heavy all day rain starting in the early part of the day and with a flood watch in effect starting tonight (we have areas in this location that are prone to issues with heavy rain) through Monday, we have decided that this is the most prudent call. Ultimately we have to do what we feel is best for our beloved vendors, team, and for our valued customers.
We would very much appreciate the help in getting the word out if you know of anyone else planning to attend. Our social media pages and website have been updated. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see you in a few weeks on Sept 23 in Bryn Mawr.
