In 1995, the Streets Department’s Sanitation Division developed the Tire Round-Up Program to address the serious problem of illegally discarded tires in the city of Philadelphia. Registered volunteers participate in the program and receive a nominal reimbursement for the tires they collect and bring to designated drop-off sites.
The 2021 program begins on Saturday, June 26th, so interested participants should register right away. Visit the 2021 Tire Round Up program page for more details or see quick links below:

Program Registration:
Call PMBC at (215) 685-3981 to request an Agreement form. Fill out and email the form to Tireroundup@phila.gov to register and become eligible for the program. Following verification of your eligibility, you will be notified by email of your identification number together with a list of drop-off locations and hours of operation.
Remember to stay safe and follow the program COVID Protocols:
  • Each project site should have a designated COVID Prevention Coordinator with responsibility for monitoring and enforcing COVID-19 prevention protocols.
  • No maximum limit is needed for number of volunteers as long as they socially distance at 3 feet apart.
  • Participants should maintain proper 3-feet of social distancing from others at all times.
  • Participants should wear protective gloves and a face mask which adequately covers the nose and mouth areas of their face (while CDC guidelines indicate vaccinated people do not need to wear masks, the Streets Department does not know who has been vaccinated and therefore requires mask wearing for the protection of all participants)
  • Participants who refuse to wear the proper PPE (as indicated above) should be immediately asked to leave the project site.
  • Visit phila.gov/covid-19 to stay updated on the latest COVID-19 guidelines for keeping you and your neighbors safe.

Thanks for your help in keeping Philadelphia clean and beautiful.
