Chestnut Hill Community Holiday Parade, Dec. 14, 9am

Now a favorite Chestnut Hill tradition! Families line Germantown Avenue to wave to the marchers in our Annual Chestnut Hill Community Holiday Parade! We welcome teams, scouts, and musical groups to help us celebrate! Organize your block and join the parade! March with your neighbors, build a float! In 2017, our 6th year, we had over 21 groups participate including the Mounted Police, Engine #37, Norwood Fontbonne Academy, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Choir, School of Rock, Chestnut Hill Youth Sports Club, Chestnut Hill Business District, Jenks Academy For the Arts, Music and Science, Penn Charter Band, Philadelphia Dance Theater, Husky Mafia, Springfield Scout Troops, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, University of the Arts-Rumble, Saint Genevieve’s School, SNAP Company, Penn Charter’s Quaker Dozen, Germantown Academy, Venetian Club Comic Brigade, and Wyndmoor Hose #1 – who brought our most important guest …Santa Claus. And of course, the Phillie Phanatic, who always makes the parade extra fun!

At the heart of parade, however, are the children. More than 400 marchers representing local schools, sports groups, scout troops and sporting clubs are participating this year. They will march down the Avenue carrying
banners, throwing candy and waving to spectators along the route.

The parade ends at Market at the Fareway with musical performances around its outdoor fireplace, join in the caroling and hymns. There will be treats, and Santa will pose for photos with the children.

Don’t forget that parking is free in Chestnut Hill on weekends and Wednesday evenings throughout December
