BRILLIANCE: Covetable Gifts of the Season

November 24, 2023 – January 12, 2024

Gravers Lane Gallery presents a showcase of American Studio Craft as personal adornment, decor for the home and an array of artist made objects for gift giving throughout the holiday season. This exhibition will feature the hand selected work of more than 40 talented artists and craftspeople from across the country, many of whom make their home in the Philadelphia area.

Keith Hershberger is a potter who produces a line of whimsical pottery embellished with images of dinosaurs as a way of bringing his carefree childhood interest in prehistoric animals into his ceramic work. Upstate NY metalsmith Victoria Moore’s distinctive jewelry is created from exquisitely patterned Damascus steel that she hand forges while they are blazing hot to produce her visually intriguing necklaces, bracelets, earrings & utilitarian objects. Seattle artist Sally Prangly’s wire baskets blend traditional weaving techniques using an array of mixed metals along with handmade papers from Asia to achieve one-of-a-kind functional & decorative forms. Joel Bless’ lifelong passion for glassblowing began at the School of American Craftsmen’s glassblowing program in Rochester, NY, & he later refined & honed his studio work with innovative techniques to create distinctive contemporary menorah designs. Fiber artist & designer Christa Louise’s nuno felted scarves are a limitless color palette of wool & silk that truly embodies the concept of luxurious wearable art.

Additional artists & craftspeople featured in the holiday marketplace are: Taylor Backes, Erica Birk, Elyn Blake, Leora Bretcher, Kate Crankshaw, Lisa & Scott Cylinder, Suki Diamond, Wendy Ellertson, Kristin Gereau, Daniel Grant & Ingela Noren, Matthew Grones, Andrea Haffner, Melissa Hampton, Jerome Hershey, Cindy Hornaman, Brynn Hurlstone, Luke Jacomb, Thomas Kelly, Kate Leibrand, Chloe Le Pichon, Marge Margulies, Dan Mirer, Elise Moran, Warren Muller, Paula & Ron Mynatt, Erin Obrochta, Jake Pfeifer, Emilie Pritchard, Mary Anne Richman, William Robbins, Cory Silverman, Rita Sieminski Smith, TJ Singh, Thomas Spake Matthew Thomas & Heather Zonderman.
