On Saturday, August 23, four of Chestnut Hill’s beloved independent bookstores, Multiverse, 50 Watts Books, booked., and Hilltop Books, will join the third annual Philly Bookstore Crawl, a citywide celebration of Philadelphia’s dynamic and thriving literary scene. In honor of the event, all four shops will open early at 9 a.m. and offer exclusive perks including discounts, giveaways, and special in-store promotions. Additionally, neighborhood favorites Baker Street Bread & Café, Char & Stave, and Matines Café will offer a special “Booklovers Breakfast” beginning at 9 a.m.
Guests are invited to kick off their Philly Bookstore Crawl adventure in Chestnut Hill’s charming small business district before heading out to explore the rest of the city’s vibrant bookstore scene.

And, spend $20 at Hilltop, and you can get 20% off your order at Matines Cafe (across the street from us). Hilltop Books is the bookstore of the Friends of the Chestnut Hill Library so we’ll also share some ways that you can share your library love with our Free Library system.
