A|R Workshop Chestnuthill presents Wednesday Night Wine Down while Wood making! | February 15, 2025 | Time: 6 PM – 9 PM
Come out to wine down on Wednesday while wood making!
Celebrate the legacy of Black artisans with a unique and inspiring Winedown Wednesday. Enjoy a wine tasting led by a sommelier Kelly Diane Daniels, while participating in a DIY woodworking workshop that honors the rich history of Black craftspeople.
What You’ll Do:
Create your own custom wood pieces, such as: Plank Wood Signs, Porch Signs, Bath Trays, Framed Wood Signs, Lazy Susans, Centerpiece Boxes, and Cake Stands.
Why It Matters:
Woodworking was a vital craft for Black artisans during enslavement and post-emancipation. These skilled craftspeople used their talents to build livelihoods and express cultural identity. This workshop celebrates their resilience, creativity, and technical expertise while inspiring future generations to explore the trades.
Let’s honor this rich legacy together, one handcrafted piece at a time!
