Chestnut Hill Walking Tour Series:  Cherokee Village Apartments and Sculpture Garden
Carolyn Adams will guide you through the history of the site, from its earlier incarnation as Stonehurst, the estate of Sallie and Charles Wolcott Henry designed by McKim, Mead and White; to the planning and construction of the Cherokee Apartments by architect Oskar Stonorov and landscape architect Cornelia Hahn Oberlander; culminating in the addition of the sculpture garden by then-owner, Tom Tarantino. As an added bonus, you will have the opportunity to tour a model apartment at the end of the tour.
