Harvest Kitchen Tour Raffle ?
Greetings, Friends!
You may have noticed we’ve been talking a lot about our RAFFLE lately, so I thought I’d fill you in.
CHMOW has hosted a fantastic fund raising event -The Harvest Kitchen Tour – for two consecutive years prior to COVID. Guests would come from near and far to glimpse renovated kitchens in the Chestnut Hill community and to taste the wares of local chefs. This fabulous and fun event generated a BIG portion of our budget.
When safety restrictions prevented our hosting the HKT in 2020 and again this fall, we shifted gears and launched the HK Raffle. Our hope is to maintain relationships with the terrific restaurants that donated their time and food to make the Tours special (See you in 2022!), while keeping our HKT guests connected.
And most importantly, we hope to recoup some of the dollars needed to
make sure our lower income clients can receive the nutritious meals they need. (60% of our current clients receive their meals for FREE.)
Prizes include gift certificates from local eating spots —
Fiesta Pizza, El Poquito, Tavern on the Hill, CH Brewery,
Chestnut Grill, Locals Cafe, Jansen, Conshy Girls Catering,
Spice Finch, Thai Kuu, Mimi’s Cafe
— valued at $50 to $250!
So…buy a ticket if you can…
and in so doing, help us keep the MEALS rolling!
Gratefully,
Carey

PS Thanks to all of YOU who have purchased raffle tickets! We are over half way to our goal of $10,000!
Out and About in the Community
We love opportunities to share about the work of CHMOW!
Board members Mandie Lyon and Ingrid Jauss greeted passers-by at the Chestnut Hill “Fall for the Arts” festival, while Susie Wilson engaged neighbors at the Springfield Township Community Day.

“Trick or Treat?”
Long-time supporter Mary Zell had a wonderful way to repurpose the small sacks she had created for the Harry Potter Festival — treat bags for our clients!
The bags will be filled with delicious surprises and delivered for the spooky holiday.
Welcome Renée!
Renee Matson-Caringi recently joined our staff as the new Office Coordinator. She is a gifted administrator with a heart to serve.
“I love talking to the clients! They really appreciate our kind volunteers and the delicious meals they receive.”
