News from your Conservancy
Race to get 25 new members by June 30
JOIN at any level – help us meet a $8,750 challenge!
In some corners of the community, neighbors are stepping up their support for the Chestnut Hill Conservancy—with a challenge.
Five families—Abby and Ron Pete, Nanie and Jay Flaherty, Maria Aini and Hooman Parsia, Emilie and Peter Lapham, and Carolyn Adams and John Meigs—have pledged to increase their membership contributions this year by a total of $8,750 if twenty-five new members join at any level by June 30th.
If you are a member, the entire community thanks you for your support.
If not, please invest in your community by joining the Conservancy so we can continue to be here for you and your neighbors.
Throughout the remainder of June, we’ll be posting some of the top reasons to be a member, as well as member stories, on our Facebook and Instagram. Check them out, and leave your thoughts!
CHAOS in our midst!
Cars, cocktails, and the Conservancy
CHAOS is a great way to celebrate Chestnut Hill’s Architecture & Open Space, and have some fun doing it.
Any current Conservancy member can join CHAOS. Add $50 per person to any membership level and receive invitations to architecture/open-space themed cocktail parties or excursions in the Fall and Spring.
Everyone at this Spring’s CHAOS event on May 10 had a fabulous time cocktailing, car-gazing and chit chatting at the gorgeous home and gardens of Pascal and Tracy Maeter. Jessie Deming, Kerri Farragut, Mary Singer, and Pascal Maeter worked wonders to create the most delightful CHAOS imaginable.
CHAOS will happen again in the fall. We have some very cool ideas flying around but only if you join
The Perennial Fete Garden Party Fundraiser
A Little Rain Couldn’t Dampen the Fun!
Between springtime storms, over 150 guests gathered to enjoy the beautiful home and garden of Jessie Deming and Bob Boyer on Sunday, June 2nd. Featuring a silent auction and raffle organized by Joanne Pizzano and the Fete Committee, delicious food by Bacchus Catering, and live music organized by Kerri Farragut (drum line procession Positive Movement!) the event was a spectacular success in every way. Thanks to all!
Special thank you to Betsy Manning for the beautiful photos. You can find all the pictures from this year’s Perennial Fete online at chconservancy.org/perennial-fete
The 2019 Great Houses Tour
Showcasing wonderfully-renovated historic homes
300 visitors came out on Sunday, May 19 to explore the five stunning and architecturally diverse Chestnut Hill homes that made up the 2019 Great Houses Tour. The tour was organized by the Chestnut Hill Conservancy in partnership with the Chestnut Hill Community Association, and included a bonus of access to Morris Arboretum’s Springfield Mills.
Attendees received inspiration galore, plus practical information directly from the renovation architects, interior designers, and contractors involved with these historic homes. Thank you to all our fabulous sponsors, volunteers, and hosts for making this annual event a success! Special thanks to Tom Duffy, Ann Csink, and Brad Sanders for leading the effort.
