We are also excited to introduce to you a new feature: what our booksellers are reading this month!
Debbie is reading North Woods by David Mason. I am liking it! You have to move through the first chapter to immerse yourself in the world; once in the world, you are taken on a journey unlike any other. Definitely a book read and digested best with a cup of tea.
Aidan is reading I Cheerfully Refuse by Leif Enger. I am a chapter in, but it’s good so far! I picked up this book because I love the cover (bookseller, meet adage), but I’ve found the writing style to be engaging and the chapter breakdowns to be interesting.
Áine is reading Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. I’m so excited to read this book. It’s been on my list for a while, and now reading it, I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to actually pick it up. I love (love) heist-based plots, and Mistborn has bonus revolutionary, overthrown an empire spirit mixed in – so far, it’s a 10/10 from me.
Giulia is reading Good Material by Dolly Alderton. You know how some books say they’re laugh-out-loud funny but then… aren’t? Well, this is not one of those. This says it’s laugh-out-loud funny and it ACTUALLY is. If you come into the store and see me laughing to myself, there’s a good chance it’s about this book. A refreshing take on a break-up story that finds the humor in the obsessing over the why of it all.
Jordan is reading Somme by Lyn MacDonald. This book is very well-researched. It is a compilation of thousands of firsthand accounts of the Battle of the Somme simplified and put into an easily comprehended compendium. I am a lover and a reader of World War I history, and this book is great so far! |
